Welcome to the Parish Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, Sheffield where the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham meets to offer Mass according to the Ordinariate Use. Everyone is welcome and all Catholics in communion with the Holy See are permitted to receive the Sacraments with us. These Masses are listed by referring to Dates for your diary opposite.
While we are certainly untraditional in our structure we are traditional in our forms of worship using the liturgical celebrations proper to the Anglican Tradition which have been approved by the Holy See, so as to maintain the liturgical, spiritual and pastoral traditions of the Anglican Communion within the Catholic Church.
We are in communion with the Universal Church because we believe that having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, through the Church he established, is in accordance with the unity for which our Lord prayed. We discover the healing of Christ’s Church through our communion within the Catholic Church and it is our mission to continually call other Christians to begin that same healing and unity we have started to experience ourselves.

January has been a very important month for the Ordinariate in Yorkshire. John Tee, the administrator at York was ordained as a transitional Deacon on the 12th January at the Church of the Assumption and St. Gregory in London by the Auxiliary Bishop in Westminster, the Right Reverend John Wilson. We look forward to Deacon John's ordination to the priesthood in July.
The Revd. Dn. John Tee was the Deacon of the Mass at the Cathedral Church of Saint Anne, Leeds. The Celebrant was Fr. David Stafford and the Sub Deacon was Fr Nicholas Leviseur who was also the preacher. Fr. Leviseur reminded the congregation of how Saint Timothy and Saint Titus [ whose memorial was celebrated] faced an indifferent society where our Lord was a stumbling block to the Jews and folly to the Greeks. We too, in our age, face indifference from a multicultural and secular society and, as Catholics we are called upon to face our present society in the same spirit as Ss Timothy and Titus, not in a spirit of timidity but a spirit of power and love and self control. [2 Timothy 7]
Through the power of the Holy Spirit we have received a wonderful start in 2019. Let us pray that we continue the work that the Lord has entrusted to us for the conversion of England by proclaiming Christ crucified who is the way, the truth and the life.
