The Ordinariate has recently made its earhly farewell to two of its priests and a religious sister.
The funerals of Fr Ivor Morris, Fr David Skeoch and Sister Wendy Renate have taken place in quick succession.
Fr Ivor Morris' Requiem mass was held at Blessed Sacrament, Chelmsford in the presence of the Ordinary, his brother priests and many members of the congregations he served in both the Catholic Church and the Church of England. A report may be found on the Brentwood Diocese Website.
Fr David Skeoch was laid to rest from St Mary's Ipswich. Mgr Newton presided in the presence of Bishop Alan Hopes and a packed church of colleagues from his long and varied ministry. The Daily Telegraph produced a (rather two dimensional) obituary which can be read here.
Sister Wendy Renate's funeral Mass was in the Basilica of Our Lady of Walsingham. Mgr Newton presided at the Mass, the Shrine Rector Mgr Armitage gave the Homily, and the Rt. Rev'd Alan Hopes, Bishop of East Anglia led the committal. There are photographs and a video of the Requiem Mass on the shrine website.
