Ordination of Andrew Harding
Monday 16th September 2013

On Sunday 15 September, Andrew Harding was ordained to the Sacred Priesthood in the Church of Our Lady of Victories, Southwell by the Bishop of Nottingham, the Rt Rev Malcolm McMahon OP. Fr Andrew is the first married man who had not previously been a minister in the Church of England to be ordained to the Catholic priesthood.


Ordinary baptises his grandson

On Sunday, 8 September, the Ordinary of the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham, Monsignor Keith Newton, baptised his grandson, Matthew Joseph, during the 10:30 Solemn Mass at the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption and St Gregory, Warwick Street.


BVM sisters receive first guests

The new religious community of the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham, the Sisters of the Blessed Virgin Mary, have received their first guests, just days after moving into their new home near the Maryvale Institute in Birmingham.


Pope calls for a day of Prayer and Fasting

Pope Francis has proclaimed Saturday (September 7) a "day of fasting and prayer for peace in Syria, the Middle East and throughout the world." On Saturday evening, the Pope will lead thousands in St Peter's Square in a vigil for peace.

The Bishop of Portsmouth, Bishop Philip Egan, will celebrate Mass on Saturday 28 September at St Agatha's Church, Portsmouth for the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham.

Assumption Evensong at Warwick Street

On Sunday 18 August, Solemn Evensong was sung and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament was given at Our Lady of the Assumption and St Gregory's Church, Warwick Street. It was the first time the Feast of the Assumption had been celebrated at Our Lady of the Assumption and St Gregory's since the church was dedicated to the life of the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham earlier this year.


Deacons for service in the Church

On Saturday July 27, Bishop Richard Moth, Bishop of the Armed Forces, ordained four men as transitional deacons for the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham at the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption and Saint Gregory, Warwick Street.
