CURIA - SAFEGUARDING

The Ordinariate Safeguarding Officer is responsible for monitoring of all aspects of vulnerable groups work within the Ordinariate. This involves responding to any allegations past or present, of inappropriate behaviour or actual abuse of children or vulnerable adults by any person working for the Ordinariate , either paid or voluntary, and liaising with the police and social services. It also involves promoting and implementing the National Policies for Child Protection or the Protection of Vulnerable Adults which have been adopted by the Ordinariate.

If you have any questions about Safeguarding or are concerned about a child or adult at risk then please contact the Safeguarding Officer for the Ordinariate, Gill James - safeguarding@ordinariate.org.uk.

A NEW SAFEGUARDING E-LEARNING PROGRAMME

The Catholic Church in England and Wales is possibly the first Church in the UK, or indeed the world, to offer safeguarding e-learning to every parishioner free of charge.

Do you work with children, young people or adults who may be vulnerable? Are you a parent who wants to learn about online safety?

Then take a look at the safeguarding e-learning programme which includes:

  • Child Protection

  • Child Protection in Education

  • Safeguarding Adults

  • Child Exploitation and Online Safety

  • Mental Capacity

To find out more please download the brochure to see the courses available and how to access them.

The e-learning programme is an integral part of the Church's commitment to safeguarding. We all have a role to play in creating a safe environment.
