Welcome to the webpage for the Bournemouth Ordinariate Mission, and greetings to you from Fr Darryl Jordan, my family and all our members. I am Group Pastor of Bournemouth, Parish Priest of Iford and RC Chaplain of Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS Trust.
My wife Lisa and I are naturalised Britons and native Texans who love 'Prayer Book Catholic' Anglicanism, always preferring 'thee' and 'thou' to modern pronouns. Just as we're both/and, Texan and Briton, we aren't 'ex-'Anglicans who 'became' Catholic; we're 'completed Anglican' Catholics. With a nod to Blessed John Henry Newman our co-Patron with OLW, we lost nothing (from Scripture and Tradition) but we gained everything else (the Magisterium, our Reason for becoming 'Roman').
By agreement between our Ordinary the Rt Rev'd Mgr Keith Newton PA and the RC Bishop of Portsmouth the Rt Rev'd Philip Egan PhD, both the Ordinariate's Bournemouth Mission and the Diocese's Iford Parish meet at St Thomas More RC Church, Iford. The relationship between the congregations is cordial, and Ordinariate members share in the overall parish ministries. All Ordinariate masses are celebrated according to Divine Worship: The Missal; Parish masses are in the Roman Missal: Ordinary Form (2011). I also happily celebrate the Sung Requiem in the Extraordinary Form (1962).
Details for all our regularly occurring services are below.
You are warmly invited to join us!
