Welcome to the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham in Sheffield which offers Mass according to the Ordinariate Use. Everyone is welcome and all Catholics in communion with the Holy See are permitted to receive the Sacraments with us.
While we are certainly untraditional in our structure we are traditional in our forms of worship.
Our custom is to use celebrations in accordance with the Anglican ethos which have been approved by the Holy See and maintains the liturgical, spiritual and pastoral traditions of the Anglican Communion within the Catholic Church.
We believe that having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, through the Church he established is in accordance with the unity for which our Lord prayed. We discover the healing of Christ’s Church through our communion within the Catholic Church and it is our mission to continually call other Christians to begin that same healing and unity we have started to experience ourselves.
The Ordinariate Mass takes place in the Day Chapel in the Catholic Church of the Mother of God, Abbeydale Road, S7 1DX every first and third Saturday. All Masses are Missa Cantata unless advertised otherwise. The next mass will take place on the, 2nd July at 11.15am. [Feria] Everyone is welcome.
There will be a Servers rehearsal on Saturday, 23rd July and 29th July at 11am in the Day Chapel.
We need singers to form a Schola Cantorum to learn plainsong in English to accompany the Ordinariate Use. If you are interested please contact Father Stafford. [Details below] There are no restrictions and anyone who loves plainsong or is prepared to learn is welcome.
