New glass doors at the Church of the Most Precious Blood at The Borough, London Bridge have opened up a fresh vista for local people. "I never knew that church was open!" "I had no idea it was so beautiful inside!" and "I hadn't really noticed there was a church there!" are among the comments from passers-by. The Easter vigil and Easter Masses gave particular scope for people to enjoy the candles, magnificent flower displays, incense and altar - and the baldacino which is a fine feature of the church.
The church sits alongside a major railway viaduct - several lines converge at London Bridge - with Borough High Street a few yards away in one direction and the Thames in another. As well as being assured of a warm welcome, the visitor to Precious Blood at The Borough will also have the opportunity to visit the famous Borough Market.
