Entries are arriving for the 2018 Children's Handwriting and Artwork Project run by LOGS, the London-based Ladies Ordinariate Group. LOGS initiated the project which is now also run by other groups in various parts of Britain.
The Project involves children studying the Lord's Prayer, writing it out in good handwriting and decorating the page - each entry must be just one side of A4. LOGS runs the project for primary schools across Greater London and Surrey. In 2017 some 40 schools took part.
The entries arrive at the Rectory address at the Church of the Most Precious Blood at London Bridge, and a team of judges organised by LOGS will meet in May and June to read all of them and pack and post prizes. Every participating child will receive a commemorative card with the Lord's Prayer on it.
"Last year the Rector complained that the front door needed a new letter-box because the current one just isn't wide enough when these big packages start arriving from schools" said a LOGS spokesman "We love running this project - there is some beautiful work from the children, some of which we put on display at Precious Blood Church. Some schools like to have their work back for display in the school - and we are also happy to send some one along to present the prizes at a school assembly or whatever."
The prizes are prayer-books: LOGS created a special "My Prayer Book" with simple prayers that every child should know, including verses from the Psalms and well-known hymns.
Closure date for entries is mid-April. Any primary school teacher interested in participating should contact LOGS via: schoolsbibleproject@gmail.com. For schools outside of London, LOGS will put the school in touch with the relevant group.
