Towards Advent Festival

The Ordinary of the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham, Mgr Keith Newton, will officially open  this year's 'Towards Advent' Festival at Westminster Cathedral Hall on Saturday 22 November and lead a workshop entitled 'Anglicans and Catholics: a way forward". Doors open at 10.00 am and the opening ceremony, with Mgr Newton and with singing provided by the choir of John Fisher School (Purley) is at 10.30 am.

The Towards Advent Festival is an annual event, which brings together Catholic groups and organisations from all over Britain. This year, among the stalls will be one run by the Ladies' Ordinariate Group, based at the Church of the Most Precious Blood, Borough and one run by the Friends of the Ordinariate, a charity set up by lay Catholics to support the Ordinariate's work. Other Catholic organisations which have stalls include: Youth 2000, the St Francis Leprosy Guild, Fisher Press, Missio, Mothers' Prayers, Aid to the Church in Need, EWTN, the Faith Movement and the Catholic Herald.

As well as Mgr Newton's workshop on the Ordinariate, there will be one on Catholic education, led by Canon Luiz Ruscilla of the Diocese of Lancaster and one, led by the Catholic composer, Joseph Estorninho, at which participants will have the chance to learn how to sing Latin chant.

Admission to the festival is free and all are welcome. Admission to the workshops is £2 each, payable at the door.
