New altar for Wales (South East) Group
Tuesday 16th December 2014

The Wales (South East) Ordinariate Group has been given a new altar by the congregation of the Metropolitan Cathedral of St David, Cardiff, where, thanks to the generosity of Archbishop George Stack, the group was provided earlier this year with its own special chapel.


Rector of Walsingham Shrine announced

The Ordinary of the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham, Mgr Keith Newton has expressed his delight at the appointment of Monsignor John Armitage as the new Rector of the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham Norfolk.


New musical setting for Ordinariate Use "Not Worthy"

A long trip to Mass

Father Stanley Bennie, the Ordinariate priest in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis, the most northerly island of the Outer Hebrides, is amused when southerners complain of the distance - sometimes as much as ten miles - that they have to travel to get to Mass. Every first Sunday of the month, he makes a three hour trip on the ferry from Stornoway to Ullapol in the north western Highlands and then catches the bus for the hour-long journey to Inverness so that he can be at Mass with the Ordinariate group there.


Pope Emeritus Benedict XVl sends gift to the Ordinary

Pope Emeritus Benedict XVl has sent as a gift to the Ordinary, Mgr Keith Newton, a signed copy of his book, Jesus of Nazareth: the Infancy Narratives, with a message written above the signature: "In communion of prayers. Yours in the Lord".


Ordinariate in bid to buy its own church

Ordinations to the diaconate

Jamie Houghton is to be ordained to the diaconate for the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham at Warwick Street in January, along with Br David Butler (announced earlier this month). 


Services of music and readings for Advent and Christmas

Many of the Ordinariate groups up and down the country are either organising, or playing an important part in, special services of readings and music for Advent. Others are holding Christmas or Epiphany carol services over the twelve days of Christmas. See the latest round-up here.


Catholic History Walk
Monday 17th November 2014

The Great Fire of London, a Viking Battle at London Bridge, and the Tower of London will all feature in a lantern-lit Catholic History Walk on 27 November, which finishes with Evensong and Mass at the Church of the Most Precious Blood, Borough - a parish in the care of the Ordinariate.


EWTN Advent reflections schedule
Monday 17th November 2014

The Catholic TV channel, The Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN) based in the US, has announced its programme of Advent talks, including one, for the fourth week, from Fr Ian Hellyer, leader of the Buckfast Ordinariate Group. Fr Hellyer was put forward to give the address by the newly established School of the Annunciation which was asked to provide four priests to give their reflections based on the Sundays of Advent Mass lections.
