the Spring

Ordinariate Life

This November and December, Fr Ian Hellyer is giving a series of five conferences on the Catholic teaching on the Last Things: death, judgment, purgatory, hell and heaven.

Each session looks at three things: what the Church teaches, what the Church counsels, and what the saints tell us.

The five conferences

Death. What is the origin of death, and what does it mean for us as Catholics? Including the Last Rites. With St Joseph, St Francis of Assisi and St Benedict.
Judgment. The particular and the final judgment: the moment of truth, when a life is seen in a single instant. With St Faustina Kowalska, St Catherine of Siena and St Bridget of Sweden.
Purgatory. The fire of love: purification and hope for those not yet ready for heaven. With St Catherine of Genoa, St Nicholas of Tolentino and St Gertrude the Great.
Hell. The reality of losing God, and the tragedy of a final rejection of him. With St Teresa of Avila, St Faustina Kowalska and St John Bosco.
Heaven. Our true home: the beatific vision, and joy without end with the ones we love. With St Thérèse of Lisieux, St Teresa of Avila and St John of the Cross.

When and where

Three conferences take place in November and two in December. They are held in the parish and also on Zoom, so you can take part wherever you are.
